Who are we?Over 100 young people belong to our Scout Group. We provide weekly fun and friendship equally for girls and boys aged from 6 to 18 in Berkswell and the west of Coventry.
Our members are from all levels of society and are comprised of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. We also host Explorer and Scout Network Groups. For over 50 years our group has had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of young people, In the last year, we have challenged the members to develop skills not commonly available elsewhere and taken part in projects. These have included learning how to get help and apply first aid in emergencies, leadership skills, archery, circus skills, zip-wires and river kayaking, Some of our scouts have had international experiences. Through the achievement of awards. the Scouts are challenged to be self sufficient and to reach their full potential. |
True Community Impact |
Our adult and youth volunteers share their skills and expertise with all in the Scout Group, allowing them to safely take part in the wide range of activities they would not normally have access to. As they develop they are supported in their aspirations, with many going on to qualify as activity instructors and leaders. We also assist local charity events by giving time and loaning equipment. Our leaders, parents and parish members all get involved at events and family camps, making this a true community group.

What others say about us |
"Scouting provides a second family to lots of young people. It's a safe place where they can aspire and grow." BEAR GRYLLS, UK CHIEF SCOUT
"For the modern youth of today we need a modern building. We have certainly outgrown our existing one and now need a building with extra meeting rooms and storage facilities to meet the needs of our expanding membership." BOB TABB, BERKSWELL GROUP SCOUT LEADER "Scouting gives us new skills, helps us to meet people from other cultures and encourages us to become independent. We really like being able to take part in so many exciting and fun activities without needing technology to do them." WILL & CHARLIE, both 13, Berkswell Scouts. |
